How Do I Replace a Lost or Stolen Library Card? First, report your card as lost or stolen, either by phone (901-476-8289), in person at the library, or by e-mail tiptonpl@covingtontn.com. Please be aware that when you registered for your Library card, you accepted responsibility for all items on the card, all use made of the card and all charges made against it until your card is reported lost. The Library must have a record of your card having been reported lost, or it is not considered lost. The cost of replacing a lost or stolen library card is $1.00.
What Is a Password number)? When using certain Library services (such as reserving a items, renewing items, or checking your account online) you may be asked to enter both your library card number (found on the back of your card underneath the barcode) and your password. Your initial login password is USERPASS. After entering USERPASS you will be prompted to create a new password. •If you have forgotten your password and need it reset please contact the library.

-AUDIO BOOKS – unlimited (2 week checkout) Fines: $.10 per day Maximum fine: $5.00
-MUSIC CD’S – unlimited (2 week checkout) Fines: $.10 per day Maximum fine: $5.00
-Children/Adult Fiction, & Non-Fiction Books – unlimited (2 week checkout) Fines: $.10 per day Maximum fine: $2.00

Fines of $3.00 or more will block patrons from checking out, including family-linked cards.
Overdue fines over $20.00 can be cleared for $20.00 per card (not including lost items)
How do I request Library materials? Using The Library’s online catalog, you may request up to 15 circulating items at a time. You may also place requests with the assistance of a Library staff member. Only certain circulating items in the catalog may be requested. DVD’s and non-circulating material cannot be reserved. If you see the Reserve This Item option next to an item you are interested in click Reserve This Item and enter your library card number and password. All requests for Library materials are on a first come, first served basis and are subject to availability. Using your Library account, you may cancel requests at anytime. Once you receive notification that your item(s) are available, you have 3 days to pick them up before they are returned to circulation. Please collect all items being held for you at once. How do I renew Library materials? You may renew your items 2 times. Note that borrowers remain responsible for any fines that may accumulate before an overdue item is renewed. We recommend that borrowers do not wait until the last minute before renewing an item, in the event it cannot be renewed. As long as your account is in good standing, eligible materials may be renewed: •Online •In person •By phone
When are materials considered late? All Library materials must be returned on or before their due date. Initial due dates are listed on receipts received at checkout. Due dates extended through the renewal of eligible materials are available by accessing your Library account for renewals performed online or by phone or through new receipts issued for in-person. Overdue materials may be subject to late fines. Borrowing privileges are suspended for users who have fines over $3.00 (Including family-linked cards)
Accessing Library databases The Library offers access to many electronic databases on a variety of topics from the arts and humanities to science and technology available both in The Library and at home. Many of these databases include full-text articles, audio and video content, and resources in languages other than English. Please note that many databases that can be accessed from outside the Library will still require you to enter your Library card number.
